On January 28, 2025, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kurulay, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), appeared as a studio guest on the live broadcast of "Tarım Orman Gündemi", a program aired on the TRT channel affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
During the program, Prof. Dr. Kurulay discussed topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture, the concept of deep learning in plant disease detection, innovative deep learning approaches in agricultural production, and the relationship between artificial intelligence and scientific reality. The discussion provided insights into how AI and deep learning technologies can contribute to advancements in agricultural practices.
Upon the invitation of Muş Alparslan University, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kurulay from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), along with a group of colleagues, provided Project Preparation and Management Training to university-affiliated academics on April 12–13, 2025.
The training program, attended by approximately 30 academics from different disciplines, featured sessions delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kurulay (ITU), Prof. Dr. Rahmi Ünal (Gazi University), Prof. Dr. Hamdi Temel (Yozgat Bozok University), and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Böyükata.
During the two-day program’s morning sessions, presentations were made under the following titles:
“Fundamental Concepts: Knowledge, Science, Research, Hypothesis”
“Project Components: Originality, Method, Management, and Dissemination Impact”
“Project Preparation Processes: Importance of Literature and Planning”
“Analysis of Findings, Dissemination, and Publication Ethics”
Participants were equipped with technical knowledge on project preparation, implementation, and completion processes.
Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kurulay, a faculty member at Istanbul Technical University, recently participated in several events across Türkiye, focusing on the intersections of science, education, and artificial intelligence.
On April 11, 2025, Prof. Dr. Kurulay delivered a talk titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Education” at Muş Anatolian High School. The event was part of the Young R&D Talks initiative, organized by Muş Alparslan University in collaboration with the Muş Provincial Directorate of National Education. The talk aimed to introduce high school students to the role of AI in shaping the future of education.
On April 12–13, 2025, he contributed as an instructor to the Scientific Research Project Preparation and Execution Training held at Esenyurt University. The two-day program provided academic staff with practical knowledge on project design, budgeting, literature review, and research ethics.
As part of the TÜBİTAK Science Talks, Prof. Dr. Kurulay also gave lectures on the "History of Science, Civilization, and Future Perspectives" at Pertevniyal High School and Ispartakule Anatolian High School, engaging students in discussions about the development of scientific thought and its relevance today.
Additionally, he served as a panelist in the Türkiye Century Maarif Talks event hosted at Avcılar Dr. Oktay Duran Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, where he spoke on "Mathematics Education and Teaching." His talk emphasized contemporary approaches in mathematics instruction and curriculum development.
These activities reflect Prof. Dr. Kurulay’s ongoing commitment to public engagement and the dissemination of scientific knowledge at all educational levels.
