Assistant Professor Dr. Nurhan Çolakoğlu recently completed a research visit to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA. From August 2024 to January 2025, Dr. Çolakoğlu collaborated with his host, Professor Michael Tsatsomeros, an expert in matrix theory.
Their primary research focused on copositive matrices, which are crucial in diverse fields like economics, operations research, statistics, control theory, and optimization. As a result of their collaboration, an article titled "The Copositive Range and Pareto Eigenvalues" is currently in preparation with Professor Tsatsomeros and his Ph.D. student, Seong Jun Park.
During his time at WSU, Dr. Çolakoğlu also delivered a talk geared toward graduate students on the "Joint Dynamics of Pseudo-Shifts."
