AId Core Solutions, co-founded by Ali Eren Karadağ, a student of ITU Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Umut Kutlu, a graduate student of ITU Mathematics Engineering. Also supported by its research team consisting of Enes Taner and Bora Karaçalı, students of ITU Mathematics Engineering, and Oğuzhan Atmaca, a graduate of ITU Electronics and Communication Engineering, has been awarded the Seal of Excellence under the TÜBİTAK 1812 - Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program (BiGG). The project, titled "AI-Based Diabetic Retinopathy Early Diagnosis Decision Support System - RetinEye AId", was developed under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Burcu Tunga and Research Assistant Ahmet Topal from ITU Mathematics Engineering department.

Project Summary: Developed by AId Core Solutions, RetinEye AId identifies the presence, stages, and particularly the early stage of diabetic retinopathy. This disease is challenging to diagnose in its early phase but can lead to blindness in advanced stages. RetinEye AId leverages artificial intelligence and advanced image processing algorithms to provide a fast, accurate, and explainable diagnostic solution. This system effectively supports doctors' decision-making processes by eliminating human errors, reducing lengthy examination times, and addressing the challenges of detecting early stages of the disease.
