The research book entitled "Caesar's Key Cryptology Methods from Past to Present" by Department of Mathematics Faculty member Prof. Dr. Gülçin Çivi Bilir was published by ITU Publishing House in June 2023.
The book addresses the question of what methods are used to transmit hidden data to third parties in the primitive and classical period. In the book, 40 cryptology methods, in general, are presented with examples involving some important words by philosophers, mathematicians, writers, poets and scientists, such as Mevlana, Yunus Emre, Ömer Hayyam, Aristotle and our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, using the Turkish alphabet. The main objective is to introduce encryption and decryption methods to all those who are interested in the subject, from primary school to higher education. Moreover, with their histories, to provide some background and make mathematics popular by discovering the mystery of mathematics on that occasion.
The author expresses the hope that this book will lead readers to a journey of discovery, and to help them realize that they can easily apply the methods provided regardless of their age or education.
